In the Wexler Die Variety Files we have maintained a file on the different working dies affected for those years. Our purpose in doing so was simply to get an idea of how scarce the varieties were for each of the three years (1998, 1999, and 2000). To date we have 31 different circulation strike working dies identified for the 1998 "Wide AM ....

In the listings presented on the following pages, the person listed under "Submitted By" is the person who sent the coin for listing in the Wexler Die Variety Files. It is not necessarily the person who originally discovered the variety.Die Markers: Obverse: Large Date. The obverse is an RPM variety listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1960-D 1¢ WRPM-086. It is a D/D Tilted (Rotated). Die scratches run NE from the front of the vest to the left of the date and mint mark. Die scratches run mostly E/W through LIBERTY. A strong die scratch runs SE from the bottom of the one in the date.
