Everyone, I bought a 95' 1/2 synthetic rope for my Warn 8274 winch. It's too thick to fit through the hole on the winch spool to secure it. is there a way to safely attach the rope with having to use the hole on the spool? The end of the rope has a nice protective covering for the first section that touches the spool.the 8274 may well be overdesigned from what I read here and be able to pull harder than spec'ed. IIRC it does come with 5/16" wire, though. That would hardly be enough for a true 12,000 lbs pull I would think. So, if the 82 really does pull way more than 8000, you'd better not use it with the original rope.
