Jan 15, 2021 · My mechanic says that while brake fluid is hydroscopic, the amount of moisture it absorbs is limited since the system is supposed to be "sealed". Different manufacturers have different guidelines for brake fluid and all of them are based on age, not mileage. BMW says 2 years, Honda says 3 years, etc.Use a turkey baster and remove the old fluid from the MC. Then fill it with the new fluid and start bleeding the brakes. Most shops will test it for you for free, or you can order a little reusable tester for like 15 bucks and do it yourself.
