460 rowland vs 10mm
406 posts · Joined 2013. #1 · Oct 24, 2016. I ordered a 460 kit from 460rowland.com and it comes with a 20lb recoil spring that it says will work with the 460 or 45 rounds. I'm kind of concerned if it will cycle the slide with a 45 ok that using full power 460 will beat up the gun. I saw that the Clark custom kit comes with a 24lb spring.Apr 10, 2013 · A Type-O. The 460 Rowland, however, is a reinforced .45 ACP that is loaded to a little higher than 10mm Auto pressure - 40,000 PSI (v. 37,500 PSI for the 10mm) w/ a slightly extended case-mouth length (to prevent chambering into std. .45 ACP) but same OAL as a .45 ACP. It's not a typo you obviously didn't click the link.Johnny Rowland has also previously come out with a .45 ACP counterpart, the .460 Rowland, in order to reach .44 Magnum ballistics in a .45 ACP handgun. It operates on the same principles as the .960 cartridge - higher pressures, and a longer case to prevent chambering in a standard .45 handgun.

Age, and pack weight consciousness, have moved me into considering carrying my G30/KKM 10mm conversion instead of my, much loved 4" 500 S&W. I don't expect the 10mm to be anywhere near the performance of the 500. My 4" 500 carry load is 420gr Belt Mountain Punch bullet @1450fps.
